ACCREDITATION
Our program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the largest and most widely recognized accreditation agency for early childhood programs in the United States. When you choose a
NAEYC accredited school for your child, you are guaranteed quality in all areas of the program. We have also received the
Gold Seal Award for Excellence from the Broward County Board of County Commissioners for more than ten years.
A COMMUNITY FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILD
At
Beth Emet Early Childhood Center you will be welcomed warmly and treated with kindness. You will have an opportunity to meet new families and build life-long relationships. The Temple can become an extension of your family.
OUR CURRICULUM
Because we believe that children learn best when they are interested in the subject matter, we use an emergent curriculum one in which the themes are flexible and take into account the interests of the children. We strive to fit the curriculum to the child, rather than the child to a previously determined curriculum. Children are encouraged to make choices, to become problem solvers, and to make decisions independently. Judaic content is integrated into all areas of the curriculum in order to invite children into the joyful world of Jewish values and learning.
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
Parents are invited and encouraged to become involved in our school! We have an
“open door policy,” and welcome your participation and your visits. Our wonderful Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) raises money to provide special equipment and programs for the children, and also offers an opportunity for socialization among the parents. Each class has Room Parents who work closely with the teachers and the PTO.
HEALTHY AND SAFETY
NUTRITIOUS HOT LUNCH PROGRAM - We offer an optional hot lunch program daily. All meals are kosher style.
HEALTHY SNACKS – Parents work in partnership with the school to provide our children with a variety of snacks such as fresh fruit, pretzels, raisins, carrot stick, yogurt and cheese.
WELLNESS POLICY- In order to prevent the spread of illness, we adhere to a consistent wellness policy. Parents are required to pick up their children when symptoms of illness are present.
PLAYGROUND SAFETY – We require our older children to wear helmets while riding the tricycles and cycle spinner during playground time.
OUR PROGRAMS
At Beth Emet Early Childhood Center we offer two, three, and five day programs, which vary depending upon the age of the child. Working parents can rely on our EXTENDED CARE hours of 7:17 a.m. though 6:00 p.m.
MOMMY AND ME, SHALOM BABY AND MORE (4 months and up)
These are first time around experiences with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver. Activities promote bonding between parent and child, early socialization, and lots of funs with a Jewish twist!
TINY TOTS (3 months to steady walkers)
We will hold, love, talk, sing, coo and enjoy your baby! We will develop a trusting relationship and be your child’s home away from home. We will follow your child’s schedule and make each baby feel special all day!
READY SET GO (walking to 23 months)
This program provides your child with activities that teach, guide, and delight, focusing on large and small muscle development, language and expression, and sensory motor experiences. We also offer a mid-year
SO BIG “transition” class beginning in January for this age level.
TWOS (2 years old by September 1)
The Twos program focuses on the development of language and socialization skills. Emphasis is on play, language experiences, holidays, music, stories and puppets, gross and fine motor development, and learning to be part of a group. Children learn school readiness skills through a variety of group and individual activities. They are exposed to math, science, sensory, and literacy experiences with a hands-on approach.
NURSERY (3 years old by September 1)
Children will experience science, math, dramatic play, music, art, cooking, and language activities through an emergent, child-centered curriculum which incorporates a multi-sensory, hands-on approach. The curriculum focuses on readiness activities from an academic level as well as a social level. Children are provided many opportunities to strengthen their fine motor skills. The Nursery staff teaches “Peace Making Skills,” a curriculum designed to encourage and strengthen conflict resolution.
PRE-KINDERGARTEN (4 years old by September 1)
Each class has a listening center and a writing center which enable the children to have pre-reading and writing experiences. Pre-kindergartners are exposed to a wealth of enrichment activities such as Journal writing, Creative Movement, Literature, Spanish, Music, Drama, Torah Talk, Playball, Science, and Sports. Language skills, number concepts, and exploration of the secular and Judaic world around them become a part of each child’s day.
The Pre-K curriculum extends beyond the classroom as our children visit such exciting venues as Young at Art Children’s Museum, Flamingo Gardens, and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Beth Emet Early Childhood Center also provides extensive after school enrichment programs. Classes are offered for both our half-day and full-day children.
