It requires more than 50 volunteers working for more than a year to coordinate, and continues to expand each year.

Volunteers come from the Temple’s membership rolls, and members of the community at large are invited to participate. Among the agencies that benefit from Temple Beth Emet’s Mitzvah Day :Broward Pace Center for Girls, Island Dolphin Care Center, American Cancer Research Society, Women in Distress, Federation Gardens and Memorial Manornursing homes, W.E.C.A.R.E emergency food pantry, Jackson Pediatric Center, and many more.Skip Straus, Temple Past President and long-time member: “Rabbi Greenspon has instilled a sense of Tikkun Olam ("Repairing the World") in each of us at Temple Beth Emet. Mitzvah Day is the most visible example of our commitment, but I am proud to say that our congregants are spreading their Mitzvot throughout the community 365 days a year.”
