Early Childhood Center

TBE takes the typical early childhood experience from ordinary to extraordinary!

Temple Beth Emet’s Early Childhood Education Center’s mission is to create a dynamic, engaging, Jewish, child-centered community characterized by developmentally appropriate learning, inquiry based exploration, scientific investigation, genuine diversity, and consistent respect.

We offer families the assurance of a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for their children and an atmosphere of support and understanding for themselves.

We view children as powerful individuals. We respect children for who they are now, as well as for their potential. We provide open-ended materials which invite and cultivate thinking, collaboration and representation of ideas. Learning is embedded in all aspects of our day through meaningful experiences and opportunities for hands-on and minds-on engagement.

We value the child’s right to play with a tangible sense of adventure, exuberance, and joy. We believe in the transcendent nature of unrushed, spontaneous play and the powerful inquiries and relationships that are built when children are given uninterrupted time with materials and with each other. Play provides an imaginary world in which children can master skills, can develop deeper understandings of what they observe in their daily lives, and can safely explore issues of power and agency. We support that thoughtful risk-taking is an important part of the learning process. When given opportunities to challenge their bodies and minds, children develop trust in themselves and expand their self-view of their own capabilities.  We nurture the scientist in the child and the child’s natural inclination toward discovery and innovation. We invite the children to build on and articulate their knowledge through dialogue with art, literacy and sensory materials that provoke their curiosity.

We seek to provide a flexible program which respects individual differences in children's temperaments and learning styles, while encouraging cooperation among the children. Our primary goal is to foster children's self-awareness and self-esteem, to build their sense of trust, to encourage their creativity, and to nurture empathy. Most importantly, our program provides an atmosphere of mutual trust and caring among the children, parents, and staff.

Our dedicated educators facilitate the learning process by actively listening to and observing the children. Teachers enable opportunities for discovery and problem solving, guide and document the learning process and nurture individuals and relationships. Teachers help build a sense of community in each classroom.

We strive for authenticity in our interactions with children, in our development of a curriculum that reflects the uniqueness of each group of learners, and in our commitment to reflecting the values of our community in our philosophy and daily practice.

Students, in partnership with their teachers, are exposed to a myriad of opportunities that helps them to gain insight into what they value, how they learn best, and the importance of self-advocacy. Our goal is to develop empathetic, resourceful, and confident students who are motivated to learn.

Beth Emet’s Early Childhood Education Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for having demonstrated substantial compliance and excellence with nationally recognized criteria for high-quality early childhood programs.

We have also received the Gold Seal Award for Excellence from the Broward County Board of County Commissioners for more than 20 years.

We have an active PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) and we offer year round special events and programs extending family participation beyond the school day. You will have an opportunity to meet new families and build life-long relationships.

Our school provides a developmentally appropriate program in a secure and nurturing environment for children between the ages of three months and five years. Early Drop-off (from 7:00 – 9:00 am), Afternoon Care (From 3:00-6:00) and Extracurricular Classes as well as a Summer Program are also available.

Beth Emet Early Childhood Center is committed to creating a community that is racially, ethnically, religiously and economically diverse. Beth Emet admits families of any race, color, religion, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin.

The children who pass through the Early Learning Center will view themselves as powerful and vital citizens, with rights and responsibilities within their classroom, school, family, and larger communities. The most worthwhile and authentic learning takes place through the interactions, ideas, and expertise, and life journeys that exist between the staff, parents, and students. Beth Emet’s progressive philosophy emphasizes the importance of belonging, play, creativity, experiential and child directed learning as foundational to helping students to develop their sense of purpose. As life-long learners, the children of the Early Learning Center will embrace the endless possibilities of discovery that exist in that sacred space of listening, wondering, and asking.

We believe in the transformational power of a small, intimate learning community that understands the strength of relationship in helping students to connect their heads and hearts.

We look forward to meeting you! Schedule a tour for June!
