Tevah Team

Our mission is to guide the TBE Community towards environmentally-friendly choices and help reduce waste on our campus. We recently helped our schools achieve the Florida Green Schools’ Green Apple designation from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for our commitment to conserve and protect Florida’s natural resources. Temple Beth Emet is the first and only "Jewish Green” school in Florida under this program!

                                                   TIP OF THE MONTH

Here are some ways to help make your Hanukkah more eco-friendly this year!

*Use locally grown potatoes and onions for your latkes, and fry them in organic oil.

-After making latkes, don’t pour the oil down the drain. Instead store it in a container and find a place that will recycle it.

*Use environmentally sustainable candles such as beeswax, soy and palm oil.

*Wrap gifts with reusable gift bags.

*Serve meals on reusable dishes.

*Buy gelt made with fair trade, ethically-sourced chocolate.

*Make your own “green” Hanukkah decorations such as a Hanukkiah using recycled materials you find around your house.
